I can’t shop for clothes right now.  I can’t reason spending money on size 12 or 14 when I’m usually a size 8 or 10 and it would only fit me while pregnant…

News in my world..

I have resigned my job.  I loved my job at first if you read back over my past entries, but now I’m pregnant I feel I’ve been letting everyone down.  I’ve not been feeling like myself.  It isn’t worth it for me anymore, I never earned the commission I was lead to believe I would earn.

Health and happiness is number one

I was actually pregnant when I started this job but didn’t know at the time.  Ha it’s funny they asked me in my interview “not planning on having babies are you?” me “oh no no” haha – I was already pregnant.

Totally illegal question by the way I know.  I wasn’t really pressured into this either if you’re wondering.  Not really but kind of (we wont go there)

I’m not sleeping.  I have quite severe hip pain during the night.  I build a fort of pillows and put a pillow between my legs to try support my body but unsuccessfully.  It keeps me awake and I’ve not found anything that helps.  Anyone out there have any advice?! I’m going to see a physio soon.  Not sleeping is the worst…

Of course I’ll lose even more sleep when I have my newborn but by then at least I’ll have my precious baby to cuddle  <3 I can’t wait to meet him <3

I can deal with all the other discomforts I’ve come across during pregnancy but I can’t deal with this hip pain.  My main reason for my resignation.

While I’m funemployed I plan to keep on top of the laundry and housework, keep on top of my studying, spend more time seeing friends, be as healthy as possible with daily walks, yoga and the healthiest diet.  I’m hoping I will qualify for a sickness benefit or student allowance.  HOPEFUL

  • My parents are in Wellington this Monday I’m very much looking forward to that
  • My last day of work is Friday 20th August
  • I’m in Auckland that weekend for my baby shower.  Squee
  • I have midwife appointment 30th August
  • I’m going home for 4 days in September
  • I start antenatal classes soon

I recently had my 19 week scan which you can see below.  Special isn’t it! Baby was in a funny position all arms and legs together so it was hard to make sense of what I could see.  The sonographer was trying to determine the sex but couldn’t guarantee because of babies position.  She did say “most likely” a boy

I’m getting older.. and so is this blog.

I’m 25!

Looking at this past year

What do I want to be acknowledged for?

  • I left my boring but pays the bills job to change direction toward a career I’m truly passionate about.

What did I accomplish?

  • I started a new job at a local gym in an industry I’ve never worked before.
  • I paid off my overdraft.
  • I broke unhealthy habits and created new healthier ones.
  • I got knocked up.  Haha.  This is by far the most important thing that has ever happened to me in my life

What did I want to accomplish that I did not accomplish? (Do I still want to do this?)

  • I wanted to play a roller derby game but my last accomplishment (knocked up) changed these plans… do I still want to do this? Yes, after I’ve had my baby.

What did I say I would do that I didn’t do? (Do I still want to do this?)

  • I said I would learn to cook/bake/become a domestic goddess.  I don’t really want to do this my boyfriend is amazing in the kitchen and I am useless and I hate it – I’ll just accept the fact.
  • I wanted to learn to sew.  Studying fitness takes up enough time maybe once I’ve finished learning that.
  • I wanted to take better care of my skin and learn how to do my own hair and make-up better then a 5 year old.
  • I wanted to finish some of my tattoos but that never happened either.

Who do I need to be in communication with?

  • All my close friends even though we don’t live so close anymore.

What were my biggest disappointments?

  • Financial disappointments.
  • I haven’t been as creative as I’d have liked…

What did I learn? – One lessons which will make the most difference if you remember it this year?

  • Don’t eat gluten it does not agree with my body.  I’d actually known this years before but for some reason continued to eat the poison, until it got too much.  Now I feel so much healthier and actually feel normal.  It seems so silly I didn’t follow the Drs advice years ago.  Like I know better?!

I am going to lose 5kgs.

I was inspired to write about this after reading Scribbles blog.

How am I going to lose 5kgs… Well. I will up my exercise and down my calories, basically.

I have some rather naughty eating habits (think coke zero and chocolate every day) I’m going to try work the 80/20 rule of eating as healthy as possible 80% of the time and indulging only 20% of the time.

That’s not every day ha put down the coke and chocolate haha.

I hope to have reached my goal by mid May!

I have no idea how much weight I would lose just by dropping the coke and chocolate.. Probably quite a bit (over a year) actually.. I’d rather not know

My exercise plan is to make it to the gym four times a week. At the gym my work out will always be mixed up but will include weights, cardio and stretching.

I also have roller derby training two times a week. This doesn’t seem to help me lose weight though

My diet plan is simple:

  • Gluten free. Lactose free.
  • Fill up on vegetables
  • Avoid trans fats and saturated fats
  • Eat lean protein
  • Watch out for salt. Watch out for sugars/artificial sweeteners
  • Don’t snack mindlessly because of emotion. Eat when hungry!

Other goals

  • Don’t snooze my alarm
  • Relieve stress
  • Get more sleep
  • Make more time to accomplish whats really important

Here’s my things I love Monday list. I need to be reminded on a Monday..

  • Make-up.

I’m all about it at the moment! I wish I had taken photos of my make-up from Saturday night, it was looking fierce if I do say so myself…

I had dark eyes. I used a black eyeshadow with a shimmer on the outer corners of my eyelid crease fading to grey on the inside. I had a shimmery pink on the inner corner and that was also on my lower lash line, it was all blended well and then a pale pink that went above the black and grey in the crease on to my brow bone. White highlights by my eyebrows. Lots of black eyeliner and bold brows that I tried to make look like Megan Fox’s. My lips were a pink gloss. I liked it a lot. All napoleon products

  • Gold hoops, fake lashes, orange lipstick
  • OPI elephantastic pink nail polish
  • Feijoa vodka, fruit liqueur, frozen berries and lemonade
  • Red hair.

I’ve added some panels of brightest red into my hair. I LOVE IT. I only added panels because I wanted to test how it would take and how it would fade before I go all over red. It’s going to be high maintenance. But that’s the price you pay to look hot ;) I don’t know if I want all over one colour or some cherry reds in between the bright red. When I do go all over that will probably be an all day event to get it right.

  • Redken hair products. I think my hair would have snapped off a long time ago if it hadn’t been for Redken!
  • Survival kit.

My boyfriend and I have finally made one. It’s only a matter of time before a big earthquake hits (!!!). There was a tsunami warning on the weekend and we live quite close to the beach.

We bought tinned foods (not nice food but whatevs it’s only for survival not for taste) batteries, torch, radio, bottled water, can opener and cat food. I think that’s all we need? I hope we never have to use it! Let me know if I’m forgeting something and where would you keep a survival kit?!

  • Roller derby.

I recently passed a skills test which I’m super stoked on. Yay. Skating always cures the meh I get from work

  • 80s dress up and 80s music
  • Beachop coming up
  • Driving home in a fortnights time!
  • Getting my cars w.o.f (3 months late) now I can park on the street and not worry about getting tickets.

  • The first tattoo I ever got was on my ASS hahaha! Of all places, haha!

I was so scared of the pain because I’d read so many online discussions and so much bullshit from the internet (this was quite a few years ago) it scared me so much so I thought I’d choose the fattiest part of my body, and ass is what I came up with :-P

  • I’m terrified of fish. Mostly crustaceans. But yes, even Nemo. Getawayfromme
  • I get irritated if big spoons and small spoons are put in the same draw. I don’t care about knives or forks but need big and small spoons separated. Why? I don’t know!
  • Random people often ask me “what’s wrong?” I must look like I’m about to burst into tears or something. I’m usually asked when my mind is blank, when I’m on the bus or waiting in line or something like that. My neutral facial expression must look suicidal (?!)
  • I love skittles but when I eat them I will eat them colour by colour. First all the reds then purples and so on, there’s a colour hierarchy to my skittle eating..
  • I take multiple choice exams backwards.
  • I’m amazing at parallel parking “like a glove”
