I don’t like taking photos of myself.  But I should really get over my vanity.  I thought my make-up was fierce on Saturday..

Could have used some concealer but I’ll remember that next time.

This is after 10 hours I went straight from work to the roller derby… which, naturally, was fucken FUN.  <3 RCRD here are some photos and video

PostHeaderIcon Life Update

Bit of a delay…. Why? Because I’ve been having so much fun I’ve hardly stopped to check the computer.  :-D

My new job:

I love it! I love fitness, I love people, I love selling and I love seeing others achieve their goals.  Put all that together, and that’s pretty much my new role, as a Membership Consultant (MC).  This is the gym. I don’t want to list benefits but if you’re reading this and you’re considering a gym membership let me know I’d love to see everyone healthy and having fun!

My hours have changed and I feel so much more relaxed and not so rushed.  It’s fab.  It’s only going to get better

Skating:

Is going really well.  I feel I am improving, finally, sometimes I feel frustrated but the last few trainings I feel like something has “clicked”.  I love it!!! RCRD

Friends:

I’m surrounded by the best in show!

Family:

My parents are flying to Wellington next month to spend a Monday with me (my day off) yay I can’t wait they fly in Monday morning and out Monday night.  How lucky am I they are coming all the way just to spend a day with me   <3 yayayay

Home:

The boyfriend and I have been pretty cute lately, as per, same with our cats.  I feel very blessed and very happy right now.

Here’s some footage of Christchurch roller derby bout this weekend just been.

I CAN’T WAIT UNTIL IT’S MY TURN TO SKATE IN A BOUT

Was FABULOUS

That’s all I feel I can write about it.. I must still be exhausted…

I didn’t take my camera so can’t share any photos sorry. Here’s one stolen one of myself (right) and my gorgeous friend Phloss.
phloss
I learnt heaps and I can’t wait to practise what I learnt, not only the drills but the skills, I can’t wait to practise putting it all into practise. Does that make sense? I’m definitely still exhausted!
  • I love roller derby even more then I did before :-D
  • My new skates I ordered have cleared New Zealand customs so they can’t be far away.
  • Bring on Friday night training yesssss
  • Richter City is the best

I also learnt a bit about myself during B&T camp. I learnt how short my attention span is. Oh no. That’s not good. Maybe that’s why I always bullet point my blog posts (?!) Not during coaching, I listen intently to the coaches, but with people I don’t know I find myself distracted almost instantly. Isn’t that rude! I desperately want to change this about myself!

I didn’t just notice this during camp but I did notice how bad it is. Someone would approach me and be friendly, her mouth is moving, but I’d not be able to repeat a single word because I’m tuned out. I’m not listening at all and worst of all I’m probably thinking about how to get away from her. This is my confession

If my initial impression isn’t that she’s awesome (I have high expectations of “awesome” too) then I act much like I do when shopping, if there’s nothing I see as soon as I walk in or in the window, I wont go through the racks I’ll leave and go to a shop I’m familiar with…..

Hrm This is a bit of a self analysis isn’t it. I guess if you use the DISC assessment then I’d be a S.

“Steadiness: People with high “S” styles scores want a steady pace, security, and do not like sudden change. High “S” individuals are calm, relaxed, patient, possessive, predictable, deliberate, stable, consistent, and tend to be unemotional and poker faced. Low “S” intensity scores are those who like change and variety. People with low “S” scores are described as restless, demonstrative, impatient, eager, or even impulsive”

I think I’m a genuine caring person. But then if I am what I think I am, why is my attention span so short.

I’m actually very close between S and I (influencing)

When I first moved to Wellington my boyfriend would introduce me to a lot of new people and I’d get quite emotional about the whole situation about how I missed my friends from Auckland and how everyone I met thought I was weird and I thought everyone was boring. This wasn’t the case at all. But I never gave people a chance.

What do you think, can you change your personality……….

Influential(Inducement, Inspiring, Impressive, Interacting, Interesting) Social, persuasive, friendly.Energetic, busy, optimistic, distractible. Imaginative, focus on the new and future. Poor time managers. Focused on people than tasks. Tell rather than ask. Ask ‘Who?’
Steady(Submissive, Stable, Supportive, Shy, Status quo, Specialist) Consistent, like stability.Accommodating, peace-seeking. Like helping and supporting others. Good listeners and counselors. Close relationships with few friends. Ask, rather than tell. Ask ‘How?’ and ‘When?’
This isn’t even about Blood & Thunder is it.  Erm. Umm.  Uh.  I got a sweet free t-shirt

I do support both teams I just happen to have a lot of leopard print in my wardrobe. I was cheering my heart out when Brutal Pageant over took Smash Malice near the end. It was such a close score! I woke up with no voice on Sunday

After the stellar success of Skate of Emergency, Richter City Roller Derby is proud to present the next bout in their first full competitive season – CIVIL OFFENCE.

The first bout resulted in a nail bitingly close victory for Brutal Pageant, who narrowly pipped Smash Malice in the last two jams. This bout looks to be the most exciting one yet with Smash Malice looking for payback for their inglorious defeat!

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THE BOUT WILL NOW BE HELD AT THE TSB ARENA*

PostHeaderIcon Skate or Die

I am getting new skates this Sunday! Not “new” really the girl who currently owns them is leaving to Japan, they are second hand.. I’m doing a swap around, swapping mine with another girls and the girl whose going to Japan I’m going to have hers, and her helmet.  About time I have my own stuff!

I think I’ll keep the wheels/bearings and everything as they are, her skates are better then mine.  Woo! And they fit.  Woo! Haha CAN’T WAIT.  I’ve been skating on the slowest skates and then skates that are too small it’s been agony.

I want to put more effort in at training and more effort in at the gym, which will pay off at training, just more in general.  My skating has got to get better.  I want to skills test soon and be put into a team we have either Smash Malice or Brutal Pageant here.   I have a long way to go!

I haven’t been skating very long but I’m loving it and I’ve just had a change in attitude

BRING ON SUNDAY.  I have my usual fresh meat training then a dress rehersal for the upcoming bout (19th this month) where I’ll be officialing.  How fun.  Very much looking forward to this

xo

What are you looking forward to at the moment?

Welcome to my blog!
